2021 – Perry Ebeltoft (MPT ’93)

Perry Ebeltoft graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Chapman University in 1993. He had progressively increasing responsibility in health care leadership throughout his professional career while working at PIH Health in Southern California from 1993 to 2019. While at PIH Health, Perry was responsible for operations of several departments, including rehabilitation services, imaging services, laboratory, respiratory care services, cardiology, radiation oncology and wounds care services as the vice president of ancillary services. In 2019, Perry joined Encompass Health as the chief executive officer and led the opening of a new rehabilitation hospital in Murrieta. The hospital was recognized for having the highest patient satisfaction rating of all 137 rehabilitation hospitals throughout the company in its first year of operation.

Perry served on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit organization Help for Brain Injured Children (HBIC) for seven years and was the board chairman from 2011 to 2013. He also served on the West Coast Purchasing Coalition Executive Oversight Committee for four years and served as the co-chair of the committee from 2017 to 2018. Perry is passionate about developing health care leaders and creating an organizational culture that provides support and education to patients and loved ones as they navigate the many challenges of health care systems. Perry currently serves on the Chapman University Physical Therapy Alumni Network Board as the treasurer. He is also part of a team of former Chapman students working to reconnect former Chapman University Physical Therapy Program graduates with the university and to support future physical therapy students through clinical mentoring and financial support.
